I’ll get write a full post about it this week, but yeah amazing weekend: 1,200km, 5 countries, 4 hours of VLN racing, and 2 laps of the Nordschleife in my tiny Clio.
It has been a bit of a pain lately, but I have to say it performed admirably through the weekend, scoring a good 200kph on the Autobahn and two great laps of the Ring. I did cook the pads a bit, but that’s part of the fun!
190 fully legal kph!

Clemsie! Are you joining the Ringmeet in September? We need a bacon-starved Frenchie, badly.

*Looks at pile of brake parts in the corner*
Your Clio is both faster and easier on brakes than my Mini.

Not sure I would trust even taking my Accent to near 200 even on the Autobahn, haha!
Looking forward to the writeup! :D

I would love to, I’m not sure I can though, as I’ll be both still working full-time at my internship and hopefully presenting my master’s thesis. Not ruling it out, but we’ll see. Bette bring bacon if I come!

It’s surprisingly easy to do! The only thing that changed in the Clio was the wind noise, really. It doesn’t move around at all. It’s just that at that point you’re quite high in the rev-range, and, well, this is ultimately an 18-year-old econobox so there’s only so much abuse it can take. But it’s super fun!

Ha! Poor Mini. I just remembered that it still has the same pads from the EurOppoMeet last year... Dang these must be good pads. They don’t smell to bad either haha!
